Millions of electric vehicles are on the road, but first and second responders, by their own admission, aren’t adequately prepared to respond when those vehicles inevitably get into accidents. In fact, many tell us they’re flat-out scared.  General Motors knew that needed to change. They asked MVP Collaborative to help. So, MVP Collaborative created the Battery Electric Vehicle First Responder Training tour – a hands-on, roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty, multi-market experience that would bring the classroom and the accident scene directly to first and second responders.  From New York to LA, we gave responders an up-close and personal look at EV basics, battery and electrical hazards, crashed and incinerated vehicles, incident response dos and don’ts, and more. Attendees even looked on as instructors cut apart an electric Hummer to show proper extrication techniques.
